Bio
Julia Erickson is a native of Los Angeles, California, graduating from Clarke University with a B.A. in Psychology. She then went on to earn her M.A. in Coaching and Athletics Administration and her M.S. in Coaching and Exercise Science from Concordia University Irvine.
Gillette College is the fourth college Erickson has worked at and the third college she has served as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach. She became a head coach at the Collegiate level for the first time at just age 25.
Prior to Gillette, Erickson was the head coach at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia and Lassen Community College in California. She was an assistant coach for one year at Chaffey College. In her career Erickson has served as an Adjunct Kinesiology and Exercise Science Instructor at three different colleges and universities. Erickson was also a Head Club Volleyball Coach for the Los Angeles Volleyball Academy from 2015-2021. She has also led as a Head Boys Volleyball Coach at North Hollywood High School, and Head Girls Volleyball Coach at Granada Hills Charter High School in the greater Los Angeles area.
As an athlete, Coach Erickson began her career by playing her freshman year at California State East Bay, a NCAA DII school in the San Francisco Bay area. After an injury, Coach Erickson then moved on to play at Pierce College in Los Angeles where she helped lead her team to a CCCAA state championship final match falling short to Cabrillo College. After Pierce, Erickson moved on to finish her career at Clarke University (NAIA) in Dubuque, Iowa. Coach Erickson played both indoor and beach volleyball.
