Gillette Signs Utah Standout- Taylen Yardley
We are excited to welcome and introduce Taylen Yardley. She is a great addition to the team, bringing huge athleticism and a record of winning. This three sport playing, nine letter winning athlete will be coming to us from Parowan, Utah. Taylen was an all-career varsity starter who collected many accolades thus far. She achieved 1st team All-Region from 2022 to 2024, 1st team All-State from 2022 to 2024, Region MVP candidate in 2024, Region champs 2022 through 2024, State champs 2022 and 2023, and National champs in 2024. She was an All-State Honorable mention for softball in 2022 and although starting track later in her sport career, she qualified in state placing 2nd in region in long jump, 1st in region in 4x400 and 3rd in region in 4x100. She’s stacked on 1,038 digs, 917 kills, and 252 aces in her volleyball career as an Outside hitter and Libero at Parowan High. Taylen reps Utah in holding its record for the most aces in a match-hers being 20. In 2023 she helped the Bulls attain an undefeated season!
With a record like this, her career at Gillette should be a promising one. Taylen expressed there being “SO MANY good things” about Gillette and why she chose here as her start of a “new chapter.” She said, “one of the things that stands out to me the most is that the coaches are super cool and very easy to communicate with.” Taylen shared that she’s also excited because “two former club teammates are playing [here] and they love it!” She desires to major in Biology and will likely bring great work ethic on and off the court as she will be graduating with high honors. We’re thrilled to have a great contributor to our back row and overall community for Gillette Volleyball!
Coach Julia Erickson says "Taylen is a great fit for our program athletically and personality wise. She is going to be a fun one to watch this fall."
