Idaho Standout Libero Signs with Gillette College

Julia Machin | Head Women's Volleyball Coach 

Khalila Salinas is an accomplished Outside Hitter and Libero from Nampa, Idaho who will be suiting up for the Lady Pronghorns this fall! Salinas earned four varsity letters in her roles as an OH/L for the Columbia High School volleyball team. During her senior season at CHS, Salinas contributed a staggering 138 kills, 105 service points, 77 digs, 40 aces, and 206 serve receive passes! With impressive stats like that, it comes as no surprise that Khalila received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. Salinas was named Most Valuable Player, Athlete of the Week, Varsity Player of the Month, Player of the Match x3, 2023-24 CHS Volleyball Team Captain, and was named to the 4A SIC All-Conference First Team. Khalila's hard work on and off the court helped her lead her team to be 2021 District Champions and the 2022 Idaho State Tournament Runner Ups! Along with being a key player for CHS, Salinas was also a large contributor to the success of the Idaho Crush Club Volleyball Team and the Idaho One Club Volleyball Team. 

The incoming Pronghorn is planning on studying Business during her time at Gillette College! When we asked Khalila about her decision to continue her academic and athletic career at Gillette College, she responded, "I chose Gillette College because of how comfortable I felt in the environment there during my visit. Gillette as a town itself is so pretty and clean! The school and its facilities are very nice and a place where I can see myself enjoying playing and continuing my education. Also Coach Julia seems like a very understanding and hardworking coach who wants nothing but the absolute best for her players!"
