Gillette College’s volleyball team has had an up and down start to the season. At 5-7, the Pronghorns have competed in three tournaments, going 1-3 in two of them and 3-1 in the third.
Fabiola Acety is a 5’4 setter who is joining us from Tohopekaliga High School in Kissimmee, Florida. Acety will be joining the Gillette College team with 13 years of volleyball experience under her belt, her combination of skill and volleyball knowledge makes her a fantastic addition to the team. Fabiola has had an impressive career so far, earning honors such as an Honorable Mention in the Orange Belt Conference, Player of the Match accolades, and even leading her team to a District Championship her junior year. This comes as no surprise when you see Acety’s stats from her senior season where she accumulated 261 assists, 127 digs, 33 aces, and 13 kills.
Kinley Solem comes to Gillette College from Thunder Basin High School. While at TB Kinley played and lettered in three sports, volleyball, basketball, and softball. In her freshman year of high school Solem found success early when she competed in an undefeated season in basketball and earned the Most Improved Award in volleyball.
Emma Daly, who attended Campbell County High School while in Gillette will be returning home to complete as a Pronghorn this fall. Daly is transferring to us from Adam State. Emma has been able to maintain her high academics through high school and college. She has been on the Honor Roll for the last five years and was in the Honor’s Society throughout high school. Emma plans to major in kinesiology and study to be a physical therapist.
