Sydney Hansen returns to Gillette College as an assistant coach, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for the game that began during her time as a player for the Pronghorns in the 2019-2020 season. A standout on the court, Hansen was a starter for the team and earned recognition as an All-Region IX Tournament Team player, showcasing her talent and determination.

Following her impressive season at Gillette College, Hansen continued her collegiate basketball journey at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming. There, she made a significant impact as a member of the All-Region Team, further honing her skills and solidifying her reputation as a dedicated athlete. She later transferred to Montana State University – Northern, where she completed her playing career and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Originally from Big Timber, Montana, Sydney's athletic prowess was evident early on. In high school, she excelled in basketball, earning letters all four years while also achieving Academic All-State honors throughout her career. Her junior year was marked by a 1st Team All-Conference selection, followed by an All-State accolade in her senior year. In addition to basketball, Sydney showcased her versatility by playing softball, football, track, and volleyball.

Now, as an assistant coach, Sydney brings her rich background and love for the sport back to Gillette College. She is married to Carl Hansen, and together they share their home with two energetic dogs, Chief and Tanzy.
