Emma Asay Signs Letter of Intent with Gillette College Basketball
Gillette, WY-December 13, 2024 – The Gillette College Pronghorns are proud to announce the signing of Emma Asay. Asay has officially signed her Letter of Intent to play basketball at the college level. With her impressive credentials both on and off the court, Emma exemplifies the true spirit of a dedicated scholar-athlete.
Standing tall at 6'1", Emma has established herself as a formidable guard during her high school career. Under the guidance of Coach Michael Swenson, Emma quickly became a vital player for the Rock Springs Tigers, earning All-Conference honors in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. As a freshman, she secured a position as a varsity starter and has consistently contributed to the team's success. During her junior season, Emma averaged 11.4 points per game (PPG), 6.3 rebounds per game (RPG), 2.3 steals per game (SPG), 0.7 blocks per game (BPG), and 1 assist per game (APG), showcasing her all-around game and leadership.
Aside from her athletic achievements, Emma is equally committed to her education. She maintains an impressive 4.0 GPA and has earned over 15 college credits while actively participating in Student Council from 2021 to 2025. Additionally, she has dedicated over 200 hours to community service, illustrating her passion for giving back to her community.
Emma's leadership skills extend beyond the classroom and court, as demonstrated by her involvement in high school athletics and community initiatives. With her focus on teamwork and collaboration, Emma has contributed to the Tigers' accolades, including their achievement as Consolation Champions in the 2021-2022 season.
