Star Valley Standout to Play Basketball at Gillette College
Gillette, WY – July 31, 2024 – Star Valley High School standout Kenlee Engelhardt has officially committed to play college basketball at Gillette College for the upcoming Fall season. The 5'9 guard from Afton, Wyoming, is set to bring her exceptional skills and competitive spirit to the collegiate level following a stellar high school career.
Born in Spearfish, South Dakota, Engelhardt has long been recognized for her versatility and prowess on the court. A prominent figure in the Star Valley High School basketball program, Engelhardt has lettered in basketball for all four years and was named All-Conference in her sophomore, junior, and senior years.
In her senior year, Engelhardt reached new heights, earning the prestigious All-State recognition, solidifying her status as one of the top players in the state. Her impressive scoring ability and leadership qualities led her to become a starter and the leading scorer for her team during her freshman and sophomore years. Engelhardt played for the Wyoming All-Stars against the Montana All-Stars earlier this summer. The Wyoming All-Stars consist of the top ten players in the state of Wyoming.
In addition to her basketball accomplishments, Engelhardt has also excelled in other sports. She has been a key player on the varsity volleyball team for her junior and senior years, earning All-Conference honors both seasons and receiving All-State recognition in her senior year. Furthermore, she demonstrated her athleticism as a starter and leading scorer in varsity soccer during her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Kenlee Engelhardt is the daughter of Cori Engelhardt from Afton, WY, and Dave Engelhardt from Spearfish, SD. Her passion for sports and commitment to teamwork are qualities that will undoubtedly translate well into her collegiate career.
"After coaching Kenlee in the Wyoming All-Star game, I knew we needed her at Gillette College," said Coach Liz Lewis. "Kenlee is tenaciousness on defensive and is a constant disruption to the opponent's offense. We are looking forward to seeing her on the court this Fall."
