Gillette College Basketball Announces Signing of Arna Bright
Gillette, WY – July 29, 2024 – Gillette College is thrilled to announce the signing of standout guard Arna Bright from Opunake, Taranaki, New Zealand. The 5'8" dynamo will join the Pronghorns for the upcoming season as she pursues her academic and athletic career. Bright comes with an impressive basketball background, including her time with the Junior Tall Ferns, New Zealand's national team, and strong performances on the national stage.
Coached by Angelo Hill and Simone Cook during her high school career, Arna has demonstrated remarkable talent and leadership on the court. In 2023, she showcased her skills at both the U17 New Zealand National Championship and the Secondary School National Championship.
"I chose Gillette College because of the area and coaches knowing that they would push me to be the best player I could become," said Bright.
Bright will be majoring in Exercise Science, where her passion for fitness and athletic performance aligns perfectly with her studies. The Gillette College coaching staff is confident that her maturity, skill set, and work ethic will make a significant impact on the team and contribute to the Pronghorns' success in the region.
