GILLETTE, WY JUNE 14, 2023- Gillette College Rodeo is pleased to announce the signing of Camp Crook, SD cowboy, Dawson Kautzman. Dawson is a freshman who works all of the men's timed events, including Steer Wrestling, Tie Down Roping, and Team Roping.  

Ted and ReAnn Kautzman are no doubt very proud of their son, who is an active member of FFA, the National Honor Society, Student Council and a repeat name on the Honor Roll at Harding County High School. Kautzman was SDHSRA 2020 Rookie of the year and a NHSFR Qualifier in 2020 and 2021. In 2022 he was named Badlands Challenge Reserve Champion Steer Wrestler, as well as SD Timed Event Reserve Champion Team Roper.

Coach Laduke states, "Dawson is a freshman that we're thrilled to have. He works three timed events and works them very well. I believe that the men's team that we have coming in this fall will push each other to great heights, with Dawson being no exception!"

Kautzman will study Business Finance while attending Gillette College.

Regarding Gillette College Dawson states, "I chose Gillette because the school size and location was great. The coaches seem great. The practice opportunities and facilities look amazing. There are many really great competitors that attend Gillette which I feel will make me better."
