Pronghorns Sign Standout Athlete Azali Alvarado
Gillette, WY — May 4, 2025 — The Gillette College Pronghorns are excited to announce the commitment of standout basketball player Azali Alvarado to join their roster for the upcoming season. Standing at 6'0", Azali is a versatile forward known for her impressive athleticism, leadership, and academic excellence.
A proud graduate of Riverside High School in El Paso, Texas, Azali has distinguished herself both on and off the court. She possesses a career average of 8.8 points, 2.1 assists, 6.7 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and 2.4 blocks per game, demonstrating her all-around game and defensive ability. Her athletic honors include First Team All-District, Second Team All-District, MVP of district games, and serving as team captain.
Azali's contributions have helped her team achieve remarkable success, including setting a school record with 101 blocks in a season. Her leadership qualities extend beyond basketball, as she has also excelled in track and field—setting the school record in the high jump at 5'0"—and played multiple positions in flag football, including quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback, and rusher.
Academically, Azali has maintained an outstanding record, earning recognition as an Honor Roll student and serving as President of the National Honor Society. She is also President of her school's Automotive Club, exemplifying her diverse interests and leadership skills.
