Booster Club Student-Athlete of the Month August Spotlight: Lexi Wells
The Gillette College Booster Club is proud to recognize Lexi Wells, a standout forward on the women’s soccer team, as the newest honoree in the Booster Club Student-Athlete of the Month Spotlight Series.
Wells has been an offensive force for the Pronghorns this season, currently leading the entire NJCAA in goals scored, points earned, and total shots on goal. She also holds the top spot in Region IX for those same categories, establishing herself as one of the nation’s premier forwards.
In just 8 games—all of which she started—Wells has scored 13 goals, tallied 1 assist, and recorded 45 shots, for an impressive 27 total points. Her consistency was on display during the opening weekend of Region IX play, where she netted two goals apiece against Western Nebraska CC and Laramie County CC.
"Lexi has been hands down our leader offensively this season," said Head Coach Anthony Longo. "Her work ethic is unmatched and she shows up when called upon. Lexi's ability to put herself in good positions to score and constantly work for 90 minutes a game sets her apart from others."
Off the field, Wells is equally dedicated to her future, balancing her demanding athletic schedule with coursework in the Nursing Program, a testament to her discipline and drive as a student-athlete.
“Lexi has been unstoppable this season,” said Gillette College Athletic Director Janie Rayback. “Her scoring ability and determination set the tone for our team, and her commitment to academics makes her a true example of what it means to be a Pronghorn.”
The Booster Club Athlete of the Month Spotlight Series celebrates Pronghorn student-athletes who excel in competition, academics, leadership, and service. Lexi Wells embodies these values, and her record-breaking season makes her a deserving honoree.
