GILLETTE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT DEPARTMENT OF ATHLETICS
Julia Machin | Head Women's Volleyball Coach
Paige Rose is a highly decorated libero who will be joining high school teammate, Hailey Eldredge, on the GCVB team this fall! The Wyoming native is a four sport athlete who excelled on the volleyball court, the basketball court, the track, and on the soccer field. Rose has earned 4 varsity letters for volleyball, 3 varsity letters for basketball, 3 varsity letters for soccer, and 1 varsity letter for track! Though Paige is a large contributor to the success of every team she played on, she truly led the way for the Lyman High School Volleyball Team. The leading libero put up a number of highly impressive stats during her senior season including 1,228 assists, 38 aces, 93% serving rate, and serve received 855 balls. Rose's monumental performance during her senior year earned her All-Conference Honors, a nomination for Southwest Athlete of the Year, the school record for Most Digs in a Game, the school record for Most Digs in a Season, #1 in Wyoming for Digs, and #1 in the Nation for Digs. Paige Rose's defensive leadership helped lead the LHS volleyball team to be the 2021 Wyoming State Champions, the 2022 Wyoming State Runner-Ups, and helped them to a 3rd place finish in the 2023 Wyoming State Volleyball Tournament.
Paige was not only a highly decorated athlete during her time at LHS, but she was also a highly decorated scholar. She applied the same work ethic in the classroom as she did on the court which led to her being wildly successful in both areas. Rose's hard work earned her the title of Salutatorian for her senior class which is an immense honor and accomplishment! Paige was also named the LHS Senior Class President for the 2023-24 school year and was inducted into the National Honor Society. The Presidential Scholar Award and the Eagle Grit Award were both awarded to Rose, along with her being named student of the month! During her time at Gillette College, Paige plans on majoring in General Education!
We had the chance to talk to Paige about her decision to come to Gillette and she said, "I chose Gillette Community College because of the wonderful campus and community. I am so excited to have the opportunity to live in Gillette and get to know all of my teammates, coaches, and other students at Gillette Community College!"
